Two people died and another was injured in a crash on Route 183 in Wayne Township early Friday morning.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred just after midnight when Nathan Reedy, 23, of Schuylkill Haven was driving south on Route 183 at a high rate of speed in a Toyota GR 86.
Reedy was driving around a right-hand curve and due to the rainy conditions, lost control, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck Linda Williams, 56, of Pottsville in a Chevrolet Malibu.
Reedy and his passenger, Italia Deering, 19, of Auburn, died from their injuries at the scene.
Williams was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Responding to the scene were the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office, Friedensburg Fire Department, Summit Station Fire Company, Schuylkill EMS, as well as nearby local police.
Route 183 was closed for approximately 2 1/2 hours while the scene was investigated.
