The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have provided more information on a crash that seriously injured an Orwigsburg man on Route 61.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred on Route 61 on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 just before 4:30pm just south of the intersection with Summer Valley Road in West Brunswick Township.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found a 1997 GMC truck laying on its roof in the right lane of Route 61 northbound.
First responders extricated the driver, identified as Thomas Paine, 68, of Orwigsburg, and immediately transported to a waiting helicopter to be flown to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest.
Paine's injuries were listed as serious.
Assisting at the scene were EMS from Auburn and Schuylkill EMS along with the Deer Lake Fire Company and Orwigsburg Fire Company.
The crash scene was processed by the Troop L Forensic Services Unit.
