Emergency crews responded to the scene of a commercial fire late Thursday evening at a local dry-cleaning business in Pottsville.
Just before 8:30 p.m., first responders were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Progress Cleaners, located at 301 North Progress Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke and flames visibly coming from the first floor of the building.
Crews quickly made entry into the structure and initiated an interior attack. The fire was brought under control shortly after, with firefighters confirming that the flames were contained to the first floor. No extension of the fire to other areas of the building was reported.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was requested to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation remains ongoing.
