Frackville Police Report on Recent Crashes - May 30th, 2025

Information from Frackville Police on recent crashes in the borough.

May 23, 2025 – N. Lehigh Avenue Crash:

At approximately 7:46 p.m., a crash occurred in the 100 block of N. Lehigh Avenue when Kyle Wakefield, 19, of Orwigsburg, attempted to turn into the Family Dollar parking lot and crossed into the path of an oncoming BMW sedan driven by Fernando Rivera-Ortiz, 49, of Frackville. 

Wakefield reported being blinded by sun glare. A passenger in Rivera-Ortiz’s vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. 

Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. Frackville EMS and Fire Department assisted.

May 24, 2025 – N. Lehigh Ave & Spring St. Crash:

At around 9:23 p.m., Frackville Police responded to a rear-end crash at N. Lehigh Avenue and Spring Street. 

Riley Mazzagatti, 20, of Shenandoah, was traveling north on Lehigh Ave in a Mazda SUV and struck the back of a Ram truck driven by Daulton Leeby, 24, of Frackville, who had stopped for a traffic signal. 

No injuries were reported. Steve’s Towing cleared the scene.
