One Injured in Rollover Crash on the Grade South of Frackville


One person was transported to the hospital after a crash on the Grade south of Frackville on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 5:30pm in the southbound lanes of Route 61 southbound just prior to the construction area that narrows to a single lane.

The driver of the sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed in the passing lane and lost control striking the embankment on the right side of the roadway before rolling twice and landing on its wheels in the roadway.

The driver was able to escape the vehicle on his own and was transported to the hospital by Frackville ambulance.

The roadway was closed for a little more than an hour while the scene was cleared.

The Good Will Fire Company from Frackville handled the scene of the crash while Englewood Fire shut down the roadway at Mall Road.

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating.
