State Police from the Frackville Barracks responded to several crashes in Schuylkill County from June 19 to June 22, 2025.
Here’s a summary of the incidents:
Three-Vehicle Crash Sends One to Hospital in Rush Township
On Thursday, June 19th, around 3:00 PM, a three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Route 309 (Claremont Avenue) and Fairview Street in Rush Township.
A 2006 Freightliner truck driven by Francklin Perez Rosado, 32, of York, failed to stop for a red light and struck a 2020 Ford Transit van turning onto Fairview Street. The truck then hit a 2007 GMC Yukon stopped at the intersection.
The Yukon’s driver, Kaitlyn Reese, 33, of Tamaqua, suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital Miners Campus by McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance.
The other drivers and passengers were not hurt. All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to damage.
Rear-End Crash Reported in East Brunswick Township
A minor two-vehicle crash took place Friday, June 20th, 2025 at 4:02 PM on Summer Valley Road near Market Street.
A Honda CRV driven by Evan Bates, 19, of Shartztown, rear-ended a Ford F-150 driven by Kyle Bartashus, 93, of New Philadelphia, who had stopped to make a left turn.
No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were moved from the roadway.
Pickup Truck Overturns in Union Township
On Friday, June 20th, 2025, at 4:33 PM, a 2004 Toyota Tundra overturned on Aristes Road in Union Township.
The driver, Adam Scott, 21, of Ashland, lost control, went off the shoulder, and flipped the truck, which came to rest on its roof.
Scott was not injured, but the truck was heavily damaged and disabled.
Hit-and-Run Damages Utility Pole in Rush Township
At 11:07 PM, on Friday, June 20th, 2025, a hit-and-run damaged a utility pole on Fairview Street in Rush Township.
The vehicle left the road, struck the pole, and fled before police arrived.
No information is available on the driver or possible injuries. Fairview Street was closed but reopened by 1:43 AM the next day.
Motorcycle Crash in North Union Township
On Saturday, June 21st, at 2:06 PM, a motorcycle crash occurred on Catawissa Creek Road at Ringtown Road in North Union Township.
Perry Miller, 56, of Myerstown, lost control of his 1986 Honda Shadow after hitting gravel in a curve. The bike struck a bridge rail.
Miller, who was wearing a helmet, suffered a possible injury and was taken to Lehigh Valley Schuylkill - East.
SUV Overturns After Striking Utility Pole in Ryan Township
On Sunday, June 22nd, at 3:15 PM, a Kia Sorento crashed on Tuscarora Mountain Drive in Ryan Township.
The driver, Osner Valcin, 39, of Hazleton, veered off the road, struck a utility pole, went down an embankment, and overturned.
Valcin was not injured, but the SUV was badly damaged and disabled.
