Schuylkill Historical Fire Society to Celebrate 100th Birthday of Historic Fire Engine in Shenandoah

The Schuylkill Historical Fire Society in Shenandoah is set to host a centennial celebration this Saturday, June 7, marking 100 years of service for its 1925 Ahrens-Fox piston pumper fire engine.

The event will kick off at 1:00 p.m. in Shenandoah with a special Antique Fire Truck Parade, featuring only fire apparatus from 1975 or earlier. SHFS is inviting area fire companies with vintage trucks to join in the festivities by showcasing their apparatus in the procession.

Following the parade, SHFS officers will pay tribute to the Shamokin Sump-Pumpers, a dedicated group of fire enthusiasts who cared for and preserved the 1925 Ahrens-Fox for more than 60 years.

Attendees will enjoy free tours of the Fire Society’s museum collection. The celebration will also include food, refreshments, and family-friendly activities, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the region’s fire service legacy.

The event is free and open to the public.
