Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Successful Community Day

The Mahanoy Area Chamber of Commerce brought the community together on Saturday for its annual Community Day, drawing large crowds and featuring nearly 50 vendors and organizations.

The event offered something for everyone, from live music and artisan goods to delicious food and local resources. Attendees enjoyed performances by Catch Twenty3 and the Shenandoah All Star Polka Band, filling the borough with music and energy.

A new addition to this year’s festivities was the Pierogie Eating Contest, which quickly became a crowd favorite as participants competed in good fun to see who could finish the most pierogies in under 3 minutes.

There was also the scenic train excursion provided by the Reading and Northern Railroad. The popular ride made three round trips to Tamaqua, giving passengers a 90-minute experience of northern Schuylkill County’s landscapes.

Chamber representatives expressed their gratitude for the community’s support, crediting the day’s success to both the wide variety of activities offered and the strong turnout from residents and visitors.
