A Pottsville man already behind bars for sexual assault charges earlier this year has now been arraigned on a new set of serious offenses following a three-month investigation.
Raymond Edward Hall, 56, of Pottsville, was formally arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Reiley on a criminal complaint prepared and filed by the Pottsville Bureau of Police. Hall faces a long list of new charges, including Rape by Forcible Compulsion, Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, multiple counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with victims under 16 and under 13, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Indecent Assault, Indecent Exposure, and Corruption of Minors.
Previous Arrest in July
Hall was already being held at Schuylkill County Prison following a July 16, 2025 arrest on separate charges of sexual abuse. In that case, Pottsville Police, assisted by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office and Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Foose, charged Hall after an adolescent victim disclosed inappropriate sexual contact spanning several years.
During interviews, Hall admitted to sexually assaulting the minor both at his residence in Pottsville and at his auto body shop in Palo Alto. He was charged with four counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, four counts of Indecent Assault, Incest, Indecent Exposure, Endangering the Welfare of Children, and Corruption of Minors. Unable to post bail, he remained in county prison pending trial when the latest charges were filed.
New Allegations
The new charges stem from a separate victim, now an adult, who told investigators that Hall sexually assaulted her as an adolescent at four different locations in Pottsville, including two apartments on the 800 block of North Second Street, a garage on the 500 block of North Centre Street, and another garage on Peacock Street. The investigation, launched in July, involved multiple interviews with the victim conducted by Pottsville Police and ADA Foose.
Hall was recommitted to Schuylkill County Prison after Judge Reiley set his bail at $100,000 straight cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025.
