Shenandoah Man Arrested on Strangulation, Assault, and Drug Charges Following Domestic Incident

Shenandoah Police arrested a borough man earlier this week after responding to a violent domestic assault.
According to court documents, Frank George, 62, of Shenandoah, was taken into custody on Monday, October 20, 2025, after police were called to a residence in the 200 Block of East Lloyd Street for a reported assault.

George has been charged with Strangulation – Applying Pressure to the Throat or Neck (F2), Simple Assault (M2), Possession of a Controlled Substance (M), and Harassment (S). He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 straight cash bail.

At approximately 11:48 a.m., police received a complaint from the female victim, who reported that George was assaulting her inside the home. When officers arrived, they reported hearing yelling from the residence. Upon entering, they observed George pinning the victim on a couch with both hands wrapped tightly around her throat.

Police removed George from the victim and placed him under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, officers discovered a clear baggie containing a green leafy substance in George’s pants pocket. A field test later confirmed the substance to be marijuana.

The victim told investigators that the altercation stemmed from an argument over ownership of a blue Nissan Titan pickup truck registered in her name. She stated that George had attempted to force her to hand over the keys. When she refused, George allegedly retrieved a baseball bat from the basement and jabbed her in the ribs several times, leaving visible redness.

The situation was briefly interrupted when another resident restrained George. However, when released, George allegedly renewed his attack on the victim, pinning her to the couch and squeezing her throat until she could no longer breathe, demanding her truck keys.

Police arriving at the scene recovered a blue Easton baseball bat believed to have been used in the assault. The victim was observed with redness on her neck and throat consistent with her account.

George now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for the incident. He remains held in Schuylkill County Prison pending further court proceedings.
