Death Investigation Underway in Ashland; State Police Say No Threat to Public


Pennsylvania State Police have launched a death investigation in Ashland after responding to a scene Friday afternoon.
Troopers have the area around the 800 block of Pine Street and Brock Street secured with caution tape as investigators work on scene. A PSP Forensic Services Unit was also observed arriving to assist with the investigation.  The Schuylkill County Coroners Office was also at the scene.

Police were going door to door questioning neighbors with the investigation focused on the home at 812 Pine Street.  

State Police confirmed that a death investigation is underway but emphasized that there is no threat to the public.

Additional details, including the identity of the individual and circumstances surrounding the incident, have not yet been released.
