He was formally sworn in during Wednesday evening’s Board meeting, with the oath administered by the Honorable Judge Burke. Dr. Lowery is set to begin his new role on Monday, December 1.
Dr. Lowery brings more than 20 years of experience in public education. He most recently served in district-level leadership positions within the Southeast Delco School District, including Assistant Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer. Earlier in his career, he spent 17 years with the School District of Philadelphia, holding roles such as teacher, special education liaison, assistant principal, and principal.

Dr. Lowery expressed appreciation for the opportunity and noted the positive work he has already observed within the district. He emphasized his goal of collaborating with staff, students, families, and the broader Pottsville and Saint Clair communities as he transitions into the role.
The Board also recognized the contributions of Interim Superintendent Dr. Alan Lonoconus, acknowledging his leadership during the district’s transition period.
In the weeks ahead, Dr. Lowery plans to begin meeting with members of the school community as part of his efforts to learn about the district and establish relationships across schools and departments.
