A Pottsville man was injured late Thursday night after an electric scooter was struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 61.
According to Pottsville police, the crash occurred on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 400 block of North Claude A. Lord Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to the scene for a reported motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and an electric scooter.
Police said the tractor-trailer, operated by Chad Miller of Tunkhannock, was traveling southbound in the right lane of Route 61 when it struck an electric scooter driven by Andre Fleming of Pottsville. Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction at the time of the collision.
Investigators reported that Fleming was wearing dark clothing and that the electric scooter did not have any rear lights illuminated. As a result of the impact, Fleming was ejected from the scooter and landed a short distance from the point of collision.
Fleming was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–East in Pottsville for medical treatment. His condition was not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
