GIRLS BASKETBALL: Mahanoy Area Builds Big Lead, Holds Off Tri-Valley for Schuylkill League Division 2 Victory


Mahanoy Area used a strong opening half and a steady finish to earn a 56–44 Schuylkill League Division 2 victory over Tri-Valley on the road.
The Lady Bears set the tone early, racing to a 19–9 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 38–22 by halftime. Mahanoy Area continued to control the pace in the third quarter, stretching the advantage to 54–27 heading into the final frame before Tri-Valley mounted a late push.

Tri-Valley outscored Mahanoy Area 17–2 in the fourth quarter, led by a dominant performance from Avery Miller, but the comeback effort fell short as the Lady Bears closed out the win.

Tri-Valley drops to 2–5 in the league division and 2–9 overall. The Lady Bulldogs will look to rebound on Saturday when they host Halifax.
