According to court documents, Alexander Christopher Moyer, 27, no known address, is facing felony charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property.
The charges stem from an investigation by North Union Township Police involving property stored at a residence in the 200 block of Mahanoy Street in Nuremberg.
Police say the victim reported on March 17, 2026, that lawn care equipment he had been storing at the property had been taken. The victim told officers he had a long-standing agreement with the property owner to store the equipment in a garage.
The equipment reportedly included multiple items such as lawn mowers, blowers, and trimmers, with an estimated total value of more than $4,200.
According to the affidavit, the property had previously been sold through an upset tax sale in September 2025. Authorities said Moyer, who had been living at the residence, later vacated the property in November 2025.
New owners of the property reported posting “no trespassing” notices in February 2026. Police later encountered Moyer at the property on March 5, 2026, and advised him to leave.
Investigators allege that on March 6, 2026, Moyer signed a document described as a “purchase agreement,” claiming ownership of all contents at the property and selling them to the new owners. The agreement reportedly included items belonging to the victim.
The victim later told police he did not give permission for his property to be sold and disputed the transaction. According to the complaint, Moyer claimed the signature on the agreement was forged when confronted.
However, one of the property purchasers told police he witnessed Moyer sign the agreement and represent that he had authority to sell the items.
Based on the investigation, police filed charges against Moyer. A warrant has since been issued for his arrest.
