A Barnesville woman charged this week in connection with a shooting in Ryan Township is now facing additional charges following an incident during her intake at Schuylkill County Prison.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, troopers responded around 4:00 a.m. on March 11, 2026, to Codorus Road in Ryan Township for a 911 hang-up call. During the investigation, police determined that Alycia Marie Yost, 36, of Barnesville, allegedly shot a 39-year-old Barnesville man in the arm.
The victim was transported to a hospital and reported to be in stable condition. State police activated the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) after Yost initially refused commands to exit the residence before later surrendering to authorities.
Yost was arraigned late Wednesday before on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer. Bail was set at $250,000 straight cash, and she was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison.
However, police say a separate incident occurred later that day during her intake at the prison.
According to the Pottsville Bureau of Police, officers were contacted by staff at Schuylkill County Prison after Yost allegedly threw urine at corrections officers during the intake process.
Investigators said Yost had urinated into a cup as part of her medical intake, which was observed by a female corrections officer. Yost then reportedly refused to place the cup down or hand it over to officers before allegedly throwing the urine at staff.
Police say three corrections officers were struck, with one being hit in the face, another along the left side, and a third from the stomach area down to the left leg.
Corrections officers were able to secure Yost and place her into a cell. According to police, after being read her Miranda rights, Yost admitted she intentionally threw the urine at the officers.
A criminal complaint has since been filed before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley, charging Yost with three counts of aggravated harassment by prisoner (F3) and three counts of harassment (summary offenses).
