A Girardville man classified as a Sexually Violent Predator is facing felony charges after allegedly failing to comply with Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law verification requirements on multiple occasions.
According to court documents, William Gregory Andrews, 38, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville with two counts of failure to verify address or be photographed, both second-degree felonies.
Troopers stated in an affidavit that Andrews was first investigated after allegedly failing to appear during a required verification window between Nov. 24, 2025 and Dec. 3, 2025.
Police said Andrews is a lifetime Megan’s Law registrant following a 2015 sexual assault conviction in Montgomery County and is required to verify his registration every three months.
According to investigators, Andrews eventually appeared at PSP-Frackville on Jan. 2, 2026, 23 days after the verification period ended to complete the verification.
State police said a second investigation began on March 19, 2026, after Andrews allegedly failed to appear during another verification period between Feb. 22, 2026 and March 3, 2026. Authorities said Andrews later completed his registration on March 11, 2026, eight days after the deadline expired.
Court documents state troopers attempted to contact Andrews by phone and at his residence on West Mahanoy Avenue in Girardville.
According to the affidavit, Andrews later told investigators he had difficulty reporting on time because his family does not live in the area, his driving privileges are suspended, and he does not own a vehicle.
Charges were filed May 13, 2026 before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli. Andrews was arraigned the same day, and unsecured bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17, 2026.
