Pennsylvania State Police have identified the driver involved in a chain-reaction crash that damaged several parked vehicles in Ashland early Saturday morning.
According to State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 6:00 a.m. on May 16, 2026, in the 400 Block of Centre Street in Ashland Borough.
Troopers say Anthony Fickinger, 35, of Ashland, was driving a 2003 Buick Century westbound on Centre Street when he crossed over the double yellow lines and into the eastbound lane, striking a legally parked Nissan Z. The impact caused a chain reaction involving three additional parked vehicles, including a Chevrolet Cruze, Cadillac XT5, and Chevrolet Impala.
Police said the Buick came to rest partially in the eastbound lane against one of the parked vehicles. The parked vehicles sustained disabling damage and were removed from the scene by Hoffman’s Mobil Services.
Witnesses previously reported seeing the driver flee the area on foot before emergency personnel arrived. State Police said Fickinger was later identified through investigative measures.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
According to court records, Fickinger was cited with 12 summary traffic violations, including accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles or property, failure to immediately notify police of an accident requiring towing, reckless driving, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, improper passing, driving in no-passing zones, failure to drive within a single lane, failure to stop at a red signal, failure to carry registration, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, and a restraint system violation.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the American Hose Company #1, Washington Fire Company #1, and Washington Fire Company Community Ambulance.
