A tractor-trailer fire has closed Interstate 81 northbound in Schuylkill County Sunday afternoon.
Around 4:20 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to mile marker 114 in the northbound lanes for a reported tractor-trailer fire.
Initial reports indicated the cab of a truck hauling peaches was fully involved in flames.
As of 5:00 p.m., Interstate 81 northbound was closed at the Hegins exit (Exit 112). Traffic is being detoured via Route 25 to Route 209 through Minersville.
There were also reports that the driver suffered burns in the incident. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays while emergency crews work at the scene.
