According to a public information release, troopers were dispatched to a residence along South Main Street at approximately 8:59 p.m. on June 15 for a report of an assault.
Police said a 40-year-old man from Mary D reported that he had been struck multiple times and strangled by an unidentified male inside his residence.
The incident reportedly occurred on June 15, and no suspect information was immediately available.
State police are asking anyone with information regarding the assault to contact PSP-Frackville at 570-874-5300.
The investigation remains ongoing.
