Pottsville Announces Parking and Travel Restrictions for America250 Parade on June 27

Motorists traveling through Pottsville on Saturday, June 27, should prepare for road closures, parking restrictions, and possible vehicle towing as the city hosts the Schuylkill County America250 Parade.

According to the Pottsville Bureau of Police, parking and travel restrictions will begin at 8:30 a.m. along the parade route and staging areas.

The following streets will be affected:

  • West End Avenue from 18th Street to Westwood Road
  • 18th Street from West Market Street to West End Avenue
  • West Market Street from 19th Street to North Centre Street
  • 2nd Street from West Market Street to Mahantongo Street
  • Mahantongo Street from 2nd Street to South Centre Street
  • South Centre Street from Howard Avenue to Harrison Street
The America250PA Schuylkill County Parade will step off at 18th & Market Streets, travel down to Second Street, turn onto Mahantongo Street, and conclude at Centre Street, where our judges will be located.

Police said event organizers will provide additional information regarding the parade staging area and route ahead of the event, including the specific dates and times that restrictions will be in place.

Officials are urging residents and visitors to move vehicles from affected areas before restrictions take effect. Any vehicles remaining along the route during the restricted period will be subject to towing.

Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow for additional travel time while the parade is underway.
