According to the McAdoo Police Department, officers were dispatched around 5:28 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, to the 600 block of Kennedy Drive in McAdoo Borough for a reported domestic incident.
Police say they spoke with the victim, who reported that Damon Mazur, 24, of McAdoo, had become violent with her. According to court documents, the victim told police that Mazur grabbed her by the back of the neck, slammed her onto a bed, picked up a hammer, and threatened to smash the television. Police say Mazur then struck the television with the hammer before leaving the home.
While officers were interviewing the victim, police say Mazur returned to the residence and began punching his own vehicle before leaving again. The victim also reported to police that Mazur had been making threats toward her throughout the week.
Mazur was later stopped by police and taken into custody.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley on charges of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault, and harassment.
Bail was set at $10,000 monetary. Mazur was unable to post bail and was committed to Schuylkill County Prison. Court records show bail was posted on July 9, 2026.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15, 2026, before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.
