According to court documents filed by the Shenandoah Borough Police Department, David Ronald Dross, 34, of Shenandoah, was charged on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, following an incident at his residence.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, members of the Pennsylvania State Bureau of Probation and Parole were conducting a visit with Dross at his residence on East Poplar Street in Shenandoah when they allegedly discovered a Springfield 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
Investigators say the firearm had previously been reported stolen to the Shenandoah Borough Police Department in June. Authorities also reported locating drug paraphernalia during the visit.
Police say Dross was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a prior felony conviction in Schuylkill County Court.
Dross was charged with felony counts of Persons Not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control, Sell or Transfer Firearms and Receiving Stolen Property, along with a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, who set bail at $35,000 monetary. Dross was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 16th, 2026, before Judge Kilker.
