Roberto Junior Martir Crespo, 26, of Saint Clair, has been charged by Saint Clair Police with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, stalking and harassment, along with a summary count of harassment. Court records show the charges were filed on August 10.
According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched around 2:55 a.m. on Friday, August 7, after a woman reported receiving multiple threatening text messages from Martir Crespo.
Police said the woman told investigators that the messages had been sent within the previous hour and allegedly included threats by Martir Crespo to set her on fire and stab her. She later went to the Saint Clair Police station, where an officer reviewed the messages on her phone.
According to court documents, one message allegedly threatened to pour gasoline on the woman, light her on fire and watch as she attempted to get help. Other messages allegedly warned the woman that Martir Crespo would follow through on his threats.
Police allege additional messages threatened to stab the woman and suggested that obtaining a protection-from-abuse order would not stop Martir Crespo. Investigators said another message indicated Martir Crespo had gone to a local bar looking for the woman and intended to continue going there to find her.
Martir Crespo is currently wanted by Saint Clair Police.
