According to Pennsylvania State Police at Stroudsburg, the crash occurred around 2:16 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, on Interstate 80 East near mile marker 303.1 in Stroud Township.
Troopers say Marcus A. Correa, 34, of Frackville, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 near mile marker 303.1 in a 2009 Honda Fit. Correa was traveling in the right lane behind a vehicle driven by Mykola Kuvaiev, 43, of Newton, Massachusetts, which was towing a U-Haul trailer towing a Ford Transit Cargo Van.
Kuvaiev began slowing down when Correa's Honda struck the U-Haul trailer. During the impact, the Transit Cargo Van's rear bumper completely came through the front windshield of the Honda Fit.
Correa was transported to St. Luke's Monroe Campus, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries at 3:16 a.m.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, Mykola Kuvaiev, 43, of Newton, Massachusetts, was not injured. A passenger, Olena Riasko, 46, also of Newton, was also uninjured.
Pennsylvania State Police at Stroudsburg investigated the crash and completed a fatal crash report.
