According to court documents, Katelyn Tiffany Carr, 26, was charged on August 4, 2026, with Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Harassment in connection with the July 27 incident. The case is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli, which is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to Shamokin Hospital after receiving a report of an assault that allegedly occurred at a residence on North John Street in Girardville.
Police said the victim told investigators she and Carr had been involved in a verbal argument earlier in the day before she later fell asleep on a bean bag chair at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The victim told troopers she awoke to the sound of glass shattering after Carr allegedly smashed a glass bong over her head while yelling. The victim further alleged that Carr threw a wooden door at her and repeatedly punched her in the head as she attempted to get up. The affidavit states the bong contained a substance identified as "Purple Fabuloso," which reportedly caused skin irritation when it shattered.
According to police, the victim was driven to Shamokin Hospital by the homeowner, where she received approximately five to six staples to close a head laceration.
The affidavit states Carr was interviewed by investigators the following day and admitted to the incident, telling troopers she became angry over remarks made by the victim.
Court records show Carr was charged with one misdemeanor count each of Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, along with a summary count of Harassment.
