According to a Pennsylvania State Police public information release, the crash occurred at approximately 2:56 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the intersection of East Grand Avenue (SR 209) and South 6th Street.
State Police said the teenage driver, a 16-year-old male from Sacramento, Schuylkill County, was traveling southbound on East Grand Avenue in a 2012 BMW 545i. At the same time, a 2011 Subaru Outback was attempting to turn left onto Route 209 from the Mid Penn Bank drive-thru ATM parking lot.
Investigators allege the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed when it swerved into the northbound lane to avoid the turning Subaru. The BMW struck the Subaru before continuing northbound, where it collided with three legally parked vehicles—a 2011 Toyota Tacoma, a 2019 Subaru Impreza, and a 2017 Hyundai Elantra.
Police said the BMW then struck a 56-year-old pedestrian from Williamstown who had been walking behind one of the parked vehicles.
The teenage driver and the pedestrian both sustained significant injuries and were flown by LifeFlight to Hershey Medical Center. A 75-year-old passenger in the Subaru suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported by Tower City Ambulance to Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital. The Subaru's 52-year-old driver was not injured.
Both the BMW and the Subaru were towed from the scene, while the Toyota Tacoma was also removed by a towing service.
Emergency responders included Life Team EMS, LifeFlight, Tower City Ambulance, the Muir Fire Department, Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Forensic Services Unit, the Troop L CARS Unit, and Hammer Towing.
Pennsylvania State Police said criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
