Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Ashland on Monday.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 12:45pm, Monday near 129 East Centre Street in Ashland (in the area of Boyer's), for a report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
The crash involved a SUV that was rear-ended by a tri-axle traveling west on Route 54. The crash pushed the SUV forward into a curb while the tri-axle veered into another curb at the former Rite-Aid.
The three occupants of the SUV all suffered various injuries with 2 of them being transported to a landing zone at Memorial Field to be flown the hospital. The 3rd victim was transported by ground.
Responding to the scene were the Washington Fire Company Rescue of Ashland and the Rangers Hose of Girardville. Also assisting were the American Hose Company and Fire Police with traffic control. Lavelle Fire and Mount Carmel assisted with the landing zones.
The crash is under investigation by Ashland Police. Also assisting at the scene were Butler Township Police.
Also responding were ambulance from Ashland, Frackville, Shenandoah, and Area Services from Northumberland County.
