LVH Schuylkill Offering Free Program to Help Those at Risk for Diabetes

Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Schuylkill is again, offering a free multi-week program geared to help people at risk for developing diabetes. It’s part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, a free, lifestyle-change program designed to help individuals prevent or delay onset of type 2 diabetes.

Geisinger Awarded $8.5 Million to Study Genetics of Mental Health

PA Senate Approves Renaming of Schuylkill County Bridge in Memory of A. Donald Buffington

The Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 593, a proposal to rename a bridge on State Route 4011, Gap Road, and crosses Pine Creek in memory of A. Donald Buffington. This commemorates Mr. Buffington’s faithful service to his community.

Shenandoah Valley Students Receive Awards from American Legion

At the recent meeting of the Anthony P. Damato American Legion Medal of Honor Post #792, two students who are grandchildren of current members and recent graduates of Shenandoah Valley High School were presented with checks for $100 each. 

Schuylkill County Students Graduate from LCCC


Lehigh Carbon Community College held its Commencement ceremonies on Wednesday, May 15, at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown. Commencement recognized the more than 900 students who have earned associate degrees, certificates or diplomas from December 2018, May 2019 and August 2019. LCCC president Dr. Ann D. Bieber presided over the ceremonies.
