Schuylkill County Man charged in connection with attempted rape of 12-year-old girl

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's office today announced the arrest of a Schuylkill County man accused of attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 12-year-old girl.

Police Investigating Attempted Abduction

According to WNEP,  West Penn Township Police are investigating an alleged attempted abduction that took place on Tuesday.


According to reports, A 13-year-old girl was walking alone along Dairy Road near Tamaqua Tuesday around noon when a man pulled up and told her to get in.


The vehicle was described as a black Honda CRV with tinted windows, a bug deflector on the hood, a roof rack, and a tire on the back.


The man is described as being African American and spoke "Broken English".  Anyone with information should call police at (570) 386-1100 or call the Schuylkill County Communications as (570) 462-1991.
