Over 300 Homes Still Without Power in Schuylkill County Friday Morning After Thursday Evening Storms
PPL crews worked through the night and into Friday as cleanup began after storms moved through Schuylkill County late Thursday.
As of noon, PPL was still reporting 325 homes without power in Schuylkill County. A third of those outages were reported in the Lavelle area of Butler Township and Gordon where almost 100 homes.
Storms blew through Schuylkill County around 7:45pm Thursday evening bringing with it, heavy rain and high winds.
As trees fell, the power began to go out within many communities including the Lavelle and Fountain Springs areas of Butler Township.
As of 8:15pm, over 2,800 homes were without power across Schuylkill County.
Street crews were out earlier Friday clearing the roadways of any debris.
North Schuylkill School District grounds crews were also out clearing downed trees.
For those without power in Butler Township, power is expected to be restored by 6:00pm.
PPL is also reporting smaller outages in East Brunswick Township, East Union Township, Mahanoy Township, North Manheim Township, Porter Township, Ryan Township, and Washington Township.
