Around 8:00pm, Wednesday, emergency personnel were called to the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 113 in Frailey Township for a motor vehicle accident involving two tractor trailers.
At the time of the crash the southbound lanes were still closed at the Hegins Exit at mile marker 112 from a crash earlier in the day.
For the second crash, the Schuylkill County Coroner's office was called to the scene for a double fatality.
No other details are available on the crash but according to the State Police at Frackville, the southbound lanes will be closed at the Minersville/Route 901 Exit for an extended period of time. A detour has been set up to bypass the crash area and return back to the Interstate at the Tremont Exit.
