Two teens from Schuylkill County were injured in a single vehicle crash in Berks County on Christmas Day.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, the crash occurred on Saturday, December 25th, 2021 around 7:00pm on Rake Road in Centre Township near Leesport.
Police say the crash occurred as two male teens, ages 16 and 14, from Schuylkill Haven, were traveling in a Chevrolet Silverado on Rake Road.
The teens were traveling downhill on a right curve when the truck lost traction on the wet roadway and slid exiting the left side of the roadway.
The truck struck a tree and came to a rest against a fence on the property at 1514 Rake Road.
Both teens were reported to have suffered serious injuries in the crash and were transported to Reading Hospital.
The truck sustained disabling damage.
The 16 year old driver will be cited for the crash.
