Road Reopens After Saw Falls Off Logging Tractor Trailer in Hegins Township

Nobody was hurt after a large saw fell off of a logging truck on Tuesday morning in Hegins Township.

According to Hegins Township Police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Gap Street around 8:45am.

Police said the 33 year old driver from Mifflintown was operating a tractor-trailer, with carrier name of JL Logging, and was pulling a Big John trailer and Barko log loader northbound on Gap Street. 

After the driver rounded a right curve in the roadway, a saw that was attached to the trailer fell from the trailer and landed on Gap Street. Hegins Valley Fire Rescue responded to the scene for traffic control and street cleanup. The saw was removed from the roadway and subsequently Gap Street was reopened at 10:00am.
