Gilberton Man Charged for Stealing Catalytic Converter


A Gilberton man is facing charges for allegedly stealing a catalytic converter off of a vehicle.

According to Frackville Police Chief Paul Olson, on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022, a Gilberton Borough employee alerted Frackville Police about a male removing parts from a vehicle in the area of the 200 block of Main St. in Gilberton. 

An investigation led to Police learning Walter Ridall, 60, of Gilberton had used power equipment to remove a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the area. 

An additional search of the vehicle Ridall was operating led to finding a small amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

Frackville Police filed a criminal complaint through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli’s office charging Ridall with Theft from a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
