Construction Worker Struck by Barrier During Frackville Crash

A construction worker suffered minor injuries after a crash in a construction zone in Frackville.

According to Frackville Police Chief Paul Olson, on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, around 10:20am, Frackville Police were dispatched to the intersection S. Lehigh Ave./Route 61 and Spruce St. for a Motor Vehicle Accident. 

An investigation revealed that Daniel Bakerofskie, 60 of Girardville was operating a 2015 Peterbilt tractor trailer, heading north on S. Lehigh Ave, through the construction zone at the intersection. 

The tractor struck the side of barrier in the construction zone, which was pushed into a second barrier. The second barrier was then pushed into one of the construction workers on the site. 

The construction worker, William Lahart, 40, of Montoursville, suffered minor injuries. 

Chief Olson said Bakerofskie will be cited for failing to obey traffic control devices.
