UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fountain Springs Fatal Crash; Other Driver Flown with Injuries

The victim in a fatal crash in Fountain Springs has been identified.

Friday morning's crash occurred just before 7:00am, in the area of 620 Fountain Street on Route 61.

The crash just before 7:00am in the area of 620 Fountain Street/Route 61 and involved a Chevrolet Colorado and a Ford Sedan that struck head-on.

The drivers of both vehicles were heavily entrapped.  The driver of the Colorado, identified as Wade Bucher, 46, of Ashland, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the helipad near the former Ashland Hospital and flown to an area hospital.

The driver of the Ford, Frank Gronski, 65, of Wilburton, died from his injuries and was pronounced at the scene by Deputy Schuylkill County Coroner Andrew Szczyglak.

Route 61 was closed in the area but has since reopened.

Butler Township Police and the Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the crash.  More information when it becomes available.
