Mahanoy Plane Man Faces Charges for Breaking into Home in Girardville

A Mahanoy Plane man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for breaking into a home in Girardville.

According to Court Documents, on Monday, May 1st, 2023, around 11:30pm, the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville were called to the 200 Block of A Street for a report of a male banging and kicking on a front door.

At the scene, Troopers spoke with a woman who said her son, Joshua Longenberger, 28, of Mahanoy Plane was banging on her front door. He then entered the home through the back door and later left through the front door.  The woman locked Longenberger out of the home after he left.

A short time later, Longenberger re-entered the home through a second story window by pushing it in and smashing it.  He came downstairs while the woman was on the phone with police, stole the phone, and fled the scene.

Longenberger would later be taken into custody and transported to be arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, loitering and prowling at night, criminal justice, public drunkenness, and harassment.

Longenberger was transported to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $15,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Judge Tarantelli on May 10, 2023.
