M&J Big Band Pays Homage to Frank Sinatra at the Majestic Theater in Pottsville



POTTSVILLE – The enchanting melodies of Frank Sinatra came to life as the M&J Big Band of Pottsville took center stage, delivering a mesmerizing performance titled "A Frank Sinatra Tribute Concert." 

The event unfolded at Pottsville’s Majestic Theater on the evening of July 30, 2023.

With a lineup boasting 17 exceptionally talented musicians, the M&J Big Band transformed the theater into a haven of musical nostalgia. The concert featured a quartet of remarkable vocalists—Kieffer Quandel, Jackie Bubnis, Jacob Shoener, and Josh Kovich—who skillfully paid homage to the legendary Ol’ Blue Eyes through their exceptional renditions.

In a remarkable testament to their commitment to musical excellence, the M&J Big Band captured the essence of Sinatra's timeless classics, leaving the audience spellbound. The synergy between the band's musicians and the vocalists transported the spectators to an era of timeless elegance and musical grandeur.

The celebration of Sinatra's legacy doesn't end with this captivating concert, as the M&J Big Band has exciting plans for the upcoming month of August. Two exhilarating free concerts are on the horizon, promising to delight music enthusiasts and aficionados alike.

The first of these delightful musical soirées is scheduled for August 12, set to unfold from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the charming Lost Mine-d Brewery in Shamokin, Northumberland County. Music lovers can anticipate a harmonious evening immersed in melodies that resonate with the soul.

As August progresses, the M&J Big Band's musical journey continues to enthral. On August 19, Claude Kehler Park in Shamokin will serve as the backdrop for the second free concert, scheduled to transpire from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Attendees can look forward to an enchanting night under the stars, as the band weaves its melodic magic once again.

Guiding this ensemble of musical virtuosos is a triumvirate of exceptional leaders. Bandleader John Shoener, along with Associate Bandleader Jacob Shoener and Assistant Bandleader Josh Kovich, orchestrate the band's performances with precision and passion.
