A Pine Grove man died, and two others were injured in a head-on crash in Pine Grove Township on Friday.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the crash occurred Friday, March 1st, 2024, around 3:22pm, on Pleasant Valley Road/Route 443 just east of Waterfall Road.
Troopers say Tyler Carl, 27, of Pine Grove was driving east on Route 443 in a Chevrolet Trail Blazer at a high rate of speed, crossed the double yellow line, and crashed head-on into an oncoming Geisinger Bus driven by Kathleen Roshannon, 54, of Minersville.
Both drivers and a passenger in the bus, Janet Jones, 87, of Pine Grove, had to be cut from the vehicles.
Carl was life flighted to Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Roshannon and Jones were also flown to area hospitals. Roshannon was reported to have sustained serious injuries and Jones sustained minor injuries.
Route 443 was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Forensic Services Unit.
