Driver Flees After Crashing into Parked Vehicle in Ashland


Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash that occurred Sunday morning in Ashland.

The crash occurred just before 7:30am, when the driver of white sedan crashed into a pickup parked in the 600 Block of Walnut Street in Ashland.

Nearby surveillance video shows the vehicle travelling east on Walnut Street when it veered into the pickup.

The pickup truck belongs to Ashland Fire Chief Phil Groody who was across the street in his firehouse when the crash occurred..

After hearing the crash, Groody along with neighbors came out to help but the female driver would flee the scene running down 7th Street and then east on Middle Street.

State Police responded, impounded the vehicle, and gathered information on the driver based on paperwork and the driver's description.

The pickup truck was driven from then scene.
