Wanted Berwick Man Charged After Providing False Identification to Police in Ashland

A Berwick man is facing charges after allegedly giving police a false name during an investigation in Ashland.
According to Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, troopers were dispatched on September 2, 2025, around 3:28 p.m. to a residence in the 100 Block of West Centre Street to assist Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services with an investigation. The investigator was attempting to make contact with a woman, who was believed to have several active warrants, including one from Columbia County for a parole violation.

While on scene, Troopers encountered a man on the side porch of the residence who identified himself as “Stone Patterson,” born February 9, 1994. The man claimed he was only visiting the home.   However, a records check under that name returned no results.

The investigator then provided Troopers with a photo of a wanted individual out of Columbia County probation, identified as Gage Aaron Patterson, 31, of Berwick. The man matched the photo and, when confronted, admitted his true identity. Patterson told troopers he gave a false name because of an outstanding warrant.

A records query confirmed Patterson had an active bench warrant out of Columbia County for a parole violation. He was taken into custody, fingerprinted, and processed at PSP Frackville before being transported to Schuylkill County Prison.

Patterson now faces an additional charge of false identification to law enforcement in connection with the incident.
