PSP Investigating Fuel Theft Incidents at Gas Stations in Schuylkill and Berks Counties

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop L – Schuylkill Haven is investigating a fuel theft that occurred at Rutters Gas Station, located at 1160 Centre Turnpike in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County.
According to troopers, the pictured suspect fueled a truck with more than $400 in diesel fuel and left the scene without paying, neither inside the store nor at the pump.

Authorities report that a second incident involving the same suspect(s) and the same truck recently occurred at Rutters Gas Station #92 in Berks County. Investigators believe additional Rutters locations may also have been targeted.

The suspect(s) are operating a red truck marked with the JMI Transport LLC company logo on the doors. The vehicle is believed to be a 2007 Freightliner with Pennsylvania registration AH46464, registered to Benjamin Polanco-Morillo of York, PA. Police note that the truck’s cab has faded red paint on the top, and that the individuals fueling it typically operate late at night or in the early morning hours.

Investigators emphasize that while Polanco-Morillo is the registered owner of the truck and business, it is not clear if he is directly involved in the thefts. The identity of the pictured suspect remains unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Schuylkill Haven at (570) 754-4600.
