The crash occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, around 2:37 p.m. at mile marker 136.8 on I-81 North.
Troopers say a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT, driven by Watson Childs, of Westdale, NY, was traveling in the right northbound lane when it crossed both travel lanes, left the roadway, and struck an embankment in the median. The impact caused the truck to overturn, coming to rest on its passenger side facing north.
Childs and a passenger, Linda Childs, also of Westdale, were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Both sustained injuries of unknown severity and were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton for treatment.
Childs, the driver, was cited for the crash.
The truck sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by D&G Towing.
Emergency crews assisting included members of PSP Frackville, Hazle Township Fire Department, Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS, and the McAdoo Fire Department/Ambulance Association.
