One Injured After Vehicle Strikes Hoffman Memorial in Ashland


ASHLAND — One person was transported to the hospital Saturday evening following a motor vehicle crash that sent a vehicle into a local landmark in Ashland.

The crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Hoffman Boulevard and Spruce Street. According to Ashland Police, the driver of a vehicle lost control and struck the Hoffman Memorial.

One occupant of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not immediately known. In addition to the memorial, at least one parked vehicle was also damaged as a result of the crash.

While the memorial itself was not affected, multiple smaller statues sustained damage.

Ashland Police are investigating the cause of the incident.

Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene, including the American Hose Company and Washington Rescue of the Ashland Fire Department. Ambulances from Ashland and Shenandoah also assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further information was immediately available.
