A fire destroyed a home in Orwigsburg on Saturday.
Just before noon on Saturday, emergency personnel were dispatched to a reported working house fire at 501 Lee Street in Orwigsburg.
Police and fire crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions coming from the side and rear of the residence. Firefighters immediately began battling the blaze, working for more than an hour before the fire was brought under control.
The home sustained extensive damage and was destroyed by the fire.
The incident called in nearly two dozen emergency units to the scene to assist.
The family who lived at the home is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
No injuries were reported. Officials have not released information regarding the cause of the fire, and the incident remains under investigation.
