A Schuylkill County man died Wednesday afternoon following a motorcycle crash in Blythe Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville.
State Police identified the victim as James P. Lake, 53, of Barnesville. The crash occurred around 4:26 p.m. on May 13, 2026, on Mountain Road at its intersection with Tumbling Run Road in Blythe Township.
According to the crash report, Lake was operating a 2023 Triumph Tiger motorcycle northbound on Mountain Road when he entered a left-hand curve approaching Tumbling Run Road. Police say Lake lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to overturn onto its left side before traveling across the roadway and coming to rest along the right shoulder.
Lake was transported by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS to Lehigh Valley East, where lifesaving measures were attempted. He was later pronounced deceased.
Police said Lake was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and no other vehicles were involved.
