Minor Injuries Reported After SUV Crashes into School Bus in Ashland

 


A driver suffered minor injuries after crashing into a school bus in Ashland on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred just before 8:30am in the 100 Block of West Centre Street when the driver of a Jeep Campus crashed into a North Schuylkill school bus transporting elementary students.  

The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS.

There were 15 students on the bus at the time of the crash, the driver and students not injured.  North Schuylkill administration was at the scene shortly after the crash occurred.  A second school bus was sent to the scene and transported the students to school.

Responding to the scene were the American Hose Company and Washington Fire Company from the Ashland Fire Department, Washington and Shenandoah EMS, and police from Ashland and Butler Township.

Centre Street reopened around 9:20am.
