Randy Allen Robertson Jr., 36, of Frackville, is charged with felony counts of robbery and aggravated assault, along with theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 31, 2026.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Pottsville Police, the investigation began after a woman reported that Robertson had taken her Samsung Galaxy S9 cell phone, valued at approximately $199.97.
The victim alleged Robertson then fled from the residence without permission to take the phone.
During follow-up interviews on August 2, police spoke with a witness who allegedly corroborated the victim's account regarding Robertson entering the residence and confronting her.
Another witness told police he had remained down the street while Robertson and another individual approached the residence. According to the affidavit, that witness reported seeing Robertson leave 428 E. Division Street carrying a cell phone matching the description of the victim's phone. The witness later allegedly heard Robertson admit that he had thrown the phone to the ground during the altercation.
Police said the victim and witnesses described an altercation during which Robertson allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and threatened her with a Craftsman utility knife.
Based on the victim's statement, witness interviews and other information gathered during the investigation, police filed charges against Robertson.
Court records show the criminal complaint was filed August 3. Robertson was arraigned August 6, with bail set at $10,000 monetary. He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post bail.
Robertson's preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for August 24 at 1:00 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley.
