Shenandoah Man Accused of Climbing Onto Roof to Flee State Police Serving Arrest Warrant

A Shenandoah man is facing several charges after Pennsylvania State Police say he climbed out of an apartment window and onto a nearby roof while troopers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant.
According to court documents, Joseph S. Zendrosky, 48, of Shenandoah, was charged following an incident on August 11, 2026, in the borough.

Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville say troopers were dispatched around 3:55 p.m. to an apartment at 24 North Union Street to serve an active arrest warrant on Zendrosky.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, when troopers arrived, they spoke with a woman who told them Zendrosky had just exited the apartment through a bedroom window.

Police allege Zendrosky jumped from the window onto a nearby roof in an attempt to evade arrest. Troopers searched the area and eventually located him on the roof of the apartment building.

Troopers said they gave Zendrosky several verbal commands and advised him that he was under arrest, but he allegedly failed to comply and continued attempting to avoid apprehension.

Zendrosky then allegedly climbed back into the apartment through the bedroom window. Troopers entered the apartment, informed him of the active warrant and took him into custody without further incident.

As a result of the incident, Zendrosky was charged with felony flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, along with misdemeanor counts of evading arrest or detention on foot, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Court records show Zendrosky was arraigned later that evening and bail was set at $15,000 monetary. He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post bail.

Zendrosky is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker for a preliminary hearing on August 27.
